These Rental Terms form part of the Terms of Service of CostumePeti and the CostumePeti Platform Network.
1. Introduction
These Rental Terms govern all rental transactions facilitated through:
- CostumePeti
- Vault Wedding
- Vault Luxury
- related rental services in the Platform Network
They apply to:
- Renters
- Inventory Owners
- Sellers offering rental inventory
- Platform-administered rentals
By placing a rental order, you agree to these Rental Terms.
2. Rental Model
The Platform provides temporary possession rights only.
- Ownership remains with Owner or Platform
- Rental grants limited use rights only
- Ownership does not transfer
- Inventory must be returned
- Shared asset / circular use model applies
3. Eligibility
To rent, users may be required to:
- Maintain active account
- Provide identity verification when requested
- Maintain valid payment method
- Meet deposit requirements
- Pass risk screening or fraud checks where applicable
We may refuse rentals at our discretion for risk or compliance reasons.
4. Rental Period
Rental period begins on confirmed delivery (or pickup availability, where specified) and ends on scheduled return deadline.
Rental durations may be structured as:
- 1 day
- Multi-day blocks
- Event windows
- Fixed rental packages
Extensions:
- Must be requested before due date
- Subject to availability
- May trigger additional charges
Extensions are not guaranteed.
5. Pricing and Charges
Rental charges may include:
- Base rental fees
- Security deposits
- Cleaning fees
- Delivery charges
- Return logistics fees
- Insurance fees (if offered)
- Late fees
- Damage recovery charges
- Platform service fees
Displayed checkout pricing governs unless obvious error exists.
6. Security Deposits
Deposits may be collected to secure against:
- Damage
- Loss
- Late return
- Excessive cleaning
- Contract breach
Deposits may be:
- Fully refunded
- Partially retained
- Applied against charges
If damages exceed deposit:
Renter remains responsible for additional amounts exceeding deposit.
We may charge payment methods on file for authorized amounts due under these Terms.
7. Delivery and Acceptance
Upon delivery or pickup, renter must inspect product promptly.
Report any issues immediately, including:
- Defects
- Damage
- Missing components
- Incorrect items
Failure to report promptly may constitute acceptance.
Photographic evidence at delivery may be used.
8. Use Obligations
Renter agrees to:
- Use product only for intended purpose
- Exercise reasonable care
- Maintain hygiene
- Prevent misuse
- Prevent unauthorized possession transfer
No ownership rights are created.
9. Prohibited Uses
Renters may not:
- Alter, tailor or cut items
- Dye or chemically treat items
- Use items in hazardous conditions
- Sub-rent without permission
- Use unlawfully
- Pledge as collateral
- Remove tags or identifiers where prohibited
Unauthorized alteration may be treated as damage or loss.
10. Ordinary Wear vs Damage
Ordinary Wear
Normal wear reasonably expected in rental use may not trigger charges.
Examples may include minor wear reasonably consistent with proper use.
Chargeable Damage
May include:
- Stains requiring special treatment
- Tears
- Burns
- Structural damage
- Missing accessories/components
- Unauthorized alteration
- Irreversible contamination
Damage grading may include:
- Minor repairable
- Major repairable
- Replacement-level loss
11. Cleaning and Restoration
Professional cleaning may be included where specified.
Where renter-caused extraordinary cleaning is required, charges may apply.
Specialized restoration costs may be recoverable.
12. Returns
Items must be returned:
- By due date
- In substantially same condition (ordinary wear excepted)
- With included accessories
- Through authorized return method
Failure to comply may trigger fees.
13. Late Returns
Late returns may trigger:
- Additional rental charges
- Penalties
- Deposit deductions
- Account suspension
Escalation
Extended non-return beyond defined tolerance may be treated as:
- Conversion to loss event
- Replacement value recovery
- Potential collection action
14. Damage Assessments
Damage assessments may occur through:
- Warehouse inspection
- Photographic evidence
- Repair vendor evaluation
- AI-assisted inspection systems
- Platform-authorized review
Assessment may consider:
- Repair cost
- Cleaning cost
- Replacement cost
- Depreciation
- Market value impact
15. Loss / Theft / Non-Return
Loss includes:
- Theft
- Misplacement
- Failure to return
- Irrecoverable destruction
Renter may be liable up to replacement value and related recovery costs.
16. Inspection and Evidence
Inspection may occur:
- At pickup
- At warehouse intake
- During processing
Evidence may include:
- Photos
- Video
- Inspection logs
- Condition records
Such evidence may support deposit deductions or claims.
17. Disputes
Damage or deposit disputes must be raised promptly after notice.
Disputes may require supporting evidence.
Platform may review disputes in good faith.
Absent clear error, platform determinations may be final subject to escalation procedures.
18. Cancellations
Cancellation terms may vary.
Fees may apply for:
- Late cancellation
- Reserved inventory blocking
- Preparation costs
- Logistics commitments
Certain custom/event rentals may be non-refundable.
19. Event Use Disclaimer
We do not guarantee:
- Event outcomes
- Fit preferences beyond listing details
- Styling expectations
- Compatibility with user expectations
Rental inventory may show ordinary wear consistent with rental model.
20. Owner Rights
Owners retain:
- Ownership rights
- Compensation rights
- Condition expectations
Platform may act on behalf of Owners in administering claims.
21. Platform Rights
We may:
- Retain deposits
- Charge authorized amounts due
- Suspend accounts
- Adjust risk controls
- Initiate recovery efforts
22. Risk Transfer
Risk transfers to renter upon delivery or pickup.
Risk reverts upon confirmed return intake processing.
Carrier handoff alone may not constitute completed return unless specified.
23. Insurance
If optional damage protection or insurance is offered:
Coverage terms will be separately stated.
Insurance does not eliminate liability beyond covered risks.
24. Fraud / Abuse
Fraudulent rentals, identity misuse, intentional damage or abuse may result in:
- Immediate suspension
- Claims recovery
- Law enforcement referral where appropriate
25. Limitation of Liability
To maximum extent permitted:
Platform shall not be liable for:
- Event losses
- Indirect damages
- Consequential damages
- Third-party misuse after delivery
- Delays beyond reasonable control
Nothing limits liability that cannot legally be excluded.
26. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control including:
- Weather
- Strikes
- Infrastructure failures
- Government actions
- Supply disruptions
27. Governing Law
These Rental Terms are governed by laws of India.

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
(subject to arbitration provisions in Terms of Service)
28. Changes
We may update these Rental Terms.
Updated versions become effective when posted.
